The re-discovery of ancient traditions, the passion for the vineyard, the enhancement of Mamertino. A set of values that originates in Santa Lucia del Mela – in the district of Messina – in an area rich of Greek-Roman history and culture, where Francesco Lipari and his family take care of the vineyard with passion, respecting the surrounding environment and living viticulture as a ‘gift handed down for centuries’. Cantine Lipari Winery was born in 2014 in Santa Lucia del Mela (Messina), in Contrada Timpanara, on a hill called “San Cono” at about 350 metres above sea level, on the slopes of Peloritani Mountains and in front of the wonderful horizon of Capo Milazzo and Aeolian Islands. The wine production takes place on an ancient family’s land composed of calcareous and clayey layers of soil, and focuses on the desire to privilege artisanal winemaking techniques – such as the use of teracotta amphorae for storing and transporting wine – to obtain vines that are identity and rich in personality. In the estate’s vineyards, which extends for about 3 hectares, are grown three red grape varieties (Nero d’Avola, Nocera and Nerello Cappuccio) and three white grape varieties (Grillo, Catarratto and Inzolia).
